Not a member of 4/31- was with 3/21 but proud to have been a 196er

My father served in Vietnam from August 66 to July 67. He was with the 196th, 4/31, Alpha Company 4th Platoon. After his death last fall, I scanned over 500 slides he took during his tour and tried to organize them according to some notations he'd made. I've put together a simple site to share these photos and notes. I would be honored to hear from anyone in the photos, or anyone with additional information concerning them. I was in Korea from Jan 71 until Feb 72. I was in both the 2nd/9th and 1st/31st. The 2nd/9th changed to 1st/31st while I was there. At least I think that is how it worked...I was in Headquarters Company

My cousin was KIA at Surang-ni. Love Co. 31st Inf, Oct, 1953. Name was Ronald Dunham. How ironic, I served in the 30th Inf at Ft Sill in 62/63 & the 32d Inf at Camp Hovey, Korea in 63/64.

Put out of the Reserve Component in 2000 just before my 60th BD. Retired as an SFC (11C, 12B4, 88M4). Benefits are great. No one but those who served really understands eh?
